A holiday in the area must include a trip to Tilba, only a few minutes drive to the south of the Central Tilba Farm Cabins. There's lots to see and do there. There are galleries, craft shops, cafes, a leather goods shop and a woodturning gallery. The privately owned Foxglove Spire Garden at Tilba Tilba is worth several hours of your time. These gardens were featured on Burke's Backyard and were claimed to be one of the best gardens in Australia.
There's a winery on the shores of Corunna Lake.
For the adventurous traveller to this area, there are trips to Montague Island. There you can watch the fairy penguins coming ashore at dusk. Why not try snorkelling amongst several hundred Australian fur seals, or the New Zealand fur seals? That's an experience you won't forget!
Another popular boating activity centred in Narooma is whale watching during September to November. Several charter boats will take you out to Montague Island where you are sure to see humpback whales, and perhaps some southern right whales.
A holiday in the Narooma area is about catching fish. Perhaps fishing in one of the many lakes. It could mean fishing from your own boat. Take a charter boat to Montague Island and beyond and try catching kingfish, trevally or snapper. There are kilometres of beaches for casting a line from the shore. There are jetties from which you can catch reasonable size fish. The rocky coastline provides numerous fishing spots for a relaxed afternoon's fishing.
The Narooma area has some good outdoor restaurants. There are several open-air cafes in Central Tilba. Or you can try one of the outdoor restaurants at the marinas on Forsters Bay in Narooma. They specialise in fresh seafood.
There's just so much to do. And the Central Tilba Farm Cabins are central to all these activities.
